You will be spending two nights in the desert so that you can closely come to terms with the desert region. Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Fez - Ifran - Midelt - Erfoud - Merzouga Desert

Today, your private driver/guide will pick you up at 07:30 am from your accommodation in Fes before having an interesting drive through the lush Middle-Atlas Mountains. You will have time to stretch your legs in the charming city of Ifrane, which was selected as the second cleanest city in the world in 2015. It has a unique architecture with the European style to the extent that it has acquired the name of the Switzerland Moroccan version city. You will continue on the track driving through the UNESCO listed cedar forest where we may include a short pause to see the endangered Barbary Macaques that live in the forest.

After having lunch in Midelt, you will drive through the High-Atlas Mountains with its snaky road offering stunning views. Have another break in the panoramic Ziz Valley with its countless palm trees. You will then visit the dates’ market in the city of Erfoud where you can learn about the varieties of the dates that are grown in the region before continuing on the track to the giant and vast sand dunes of Erg Chebbi. Spend the night by the edge of the sand dunes and get ready for the next day’s adventure.

Day 2: Explore the Desert Area & Camel Trek

After having breakfast in your hotel/Riad, you will spend most of the day exploring the desert area beginning with a drive along the feet of the sand dunes where you will have the chance to learn about the sophisticated system of irrigation known as “Khettaras”. Drive to the Khamlia Village, which is inhabited by black Africans by origin brought as slaves from the Sub-Saharan Lands. They perform the Gnawa spiritual music to visitors, which has brought a direct income to the community. 

Later, you will have a complete tour around the majestic sand dunes of Erg Chebbi with our robust 4WD. You will visit the “Berber” Amazigh nomads who live in a simple tent offering a rare opportunity for you to learn about the tough lifestyle of this people. You will then return back to our Riad/hotel where you will go for the camel ride experience in the sand dunes while enjoying the stunning views of the sunset. Have dinner in our tented restaurant or under the stars, then stretch your legs in the sand watching the stars that illuminate the horizons before culminating the interesting day with a sleep in your private tent or under the stars.

Day 3: Merzouga Desert - Todra Gorge - Dades Valley

Early wake up in the morning, climb the sand dune and enjoy the breathtaking view of the sunrise before returning to the camp for breakfast, take a refreshing shower and get ready for resuming our journey further west to the lush Valley of Dades. Enjoy the magnificent views of the impressive Todra Gorge (Canyon) with its high cliffs that have been attracting mountain climbers from all over the world. The locals come to this attraction seeking the cooler weather when it’s boiling in the region. After lunch, you will spend the night in the Dades Valley.

Day 4: Dades Valley - Ouarzazate - Ait Benhaddou - Marrakech

After having breakfast in your hotel/Riad, you will drive to Marrakech through the Valley of Roses where you can learn about the local products from perfumes, cosmetics, rose-water and much more. You will cross the city of Ouarzazate (Hollywood of Africa) known for the Atlas Film Studios, then to the dramatic Ait Benhaddou Village where you can explore this unique masterpiece of architecture. 

Ait Benhaddou was listed by the UNESCO as a World Heritage Site consisting of numerous Kasbahs (fortresses) with high-walls, tiny windows and doors. It played an important role as a commercial center for the caravans that used to traverse the Sahara from Marrakech. After lunch, you will continue on the track with a nice drive through the Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2260 m) offering breathtaking views before reaching our final destination (Marrakech) in the late afternoon. and end our Tour 4 Days Tour from Fez  to Marrakech
